Vodafone Turkey has approximately 18.4 million subscribers according to the data for the April-June 2012 period. At the same time, it ranks 2nd in terms of user market share. While 12.2 million subscribers use prepaid lines, it has 6.2 million postpaid subscribers. Vodafone is the operator with the most number portabilities in Turkey. It started providing 3G service in 2009. According to the results of June 2011, it has covered 99.02% of the Turkish population with 2G and 79.96% with 3G. 99.65% of settlements in Turkey with a population of over 10,000 are within Vodafone's coverage area. Vodafone launched high-definition (HD) technology in its first voice calls in Turkey. It has the best voice quality in Istanbul as of June 2007.
